It’s clean and organized and the space they would have provided for my mother was going to be a very clean space. I think the residents were content and very accepting of their conditions. Garden of Palms was not as wonderful as we would've liked.

I spoke to the director and had a tour of the facility. It was very small and had only 65 patients, which was what I thought we wanted. Their activities were very good, things that the patients could do all day long. They had chef that made homemade food and not pre-packaged. They had music all the time in the building. You would hear music when you walked in the hallway.

Services and Amenities of Palm Gardens Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation
This is a very 'hamisha' facility with excellent care. I moved my parents from Florida to here, and is an excellent alternative to the Jewish Home. Kosher food, made fresh each day, enhances the experience, and the staff is kind, caring, warm, and enjoy being there. My parents are happy even though they never wanted to be in California, and I'm happy they are well taken care of. Our programs address mild to advanced stages of memory loss. We build a relationship with each resident to meet their unique needs in a comfortable home environment.
They were helpful and tried to please all of us. They showed us the best room and the worst room without hiding anything. The residents seemed to be very happy. The dining room was beautifully furnished. The inside was better than the outside because it's on a busy street. Outside was a little noisy, but inside looked beautiful.

It’s run by two to three people with one person overseeing it. They accept Medicaid, which would have been good. They take care of people with memory issues and who are in wheelchairs.

The ratio was really poor, and it's old. The problem was that there were 40 residents and only three full-time caregivers. The director of activities was running around, trying to take people on walks. When I asked the salesperson, "Tell me what makes this place stand apart from everybody else." He said the kosher food, and that's not a satisfactory answer for me. I called the executive director to try to talk to him about the tour that I was dissatisfied with, and he never called me back .
